B&B Goes Green! Celebrating Our Green Business Certification

We’re thrilled to announce that B&B Catering has officially joined the California Green Business Network and received our Green Business Certification! This milestone reflects our commitment to a more sustainable future, aligning our practices with our values and the growing demand for eco-conscious operations in the catering industry.

Our journey towards sustainability began with a simple realization: our everyday actions have a significant impact on the environment. From food sustainability to energy efficiency, we knew there was much more we could do to reduce our ecological footprint. By integrating green practices into our business operations, we’re not just setting a new standard for ourselves but also paving the way for others in the industry.

Supporting Local Farms & Families

One of our key initiatives has been to enhance food sustainability. We prioritize locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, reducing the carbon footprint associated with long-distance transportation. Each year, we are partnering with more farms and families local to the San Francisco Bay Area to source fresh, high-quality ingredients. This collaboration not only supports the local community but also ensures our dishes are as flavorful and nutritious as possible. We are committed to food sustainability and take pride in contributing to a healthier environment by reducing our carbon footprint and promoting sustainable farming practices.

A few of these farmers & vendors include: Lonely Mountain Farms, Brokaw Farms (famously known for their avocados), Allstar Organics, Dirty Girl Farms, Marin Roots and Star Route Farms.

Other Sustainable Practices

Additionally, we’ve adopted waste management practices that emphasize composting and recycling, ensuring that less of our kitchen waste ends up in landfills. Energy efficiency is another cornerstone of our green transformation. We’ve upgraded to energy-efficient lighting throughout our kitchen and office spaces, cutting down on electricity usage without compromising on brightness or safety. Our commitment extends to using energy-saving appliances and optimizing our kitchen operations to minimize unnecessary power consumption.

Future Goals & Continued Progress

Achieving Green Business Certification was not just a goal but a journey of learning. We worked closely with the California Green Business Network to implement best practices and continually improve our environmental impact. This certification validates our efforts and inspires us to keep pushing boundaries in our pursuit to be more sustainable.

At B&B Catering, going green isn’t just a trend—it’s a fundamental shift in how we operate. We’re proud to lead by example and look forward to continuing our journey towards a more sustainable future. Stay tuned for more updates as we strive to make a positive difference in every aspect of our business!
